Weekend

We've just returned from a lovely weekend visiting one of our daughters. She lives in Norwich. This is part of the country I don't know very well. The flat landscape is so very different from our 'rolling' hills here in Co. Durham, a real change. We were only there for a couple of days so time was precious and sightseeing down to a minimum, as we wanted to spend time with her in her lovely house. We went to Mass before we left this morning in The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
This is a very grand building dating back to 1910. I will post some photos later in the week. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Amy's Quilt Festival.

Over at Amy's blog there is an online quilt festival starting today and running for a week. As I have only ever made one quilt I don't have a lot of choice but as no judging takes place I thought I'd participate. Apologies to those who have already read the details of the quilt in an earlier post but I need to chronicle the it's making for the festival. It was about 2-3 years in the planning , as I was such a coward I really didn't know where to begin. The idea for the quilt was a request from my youngest daughter and not wishing to disappoint I immediately agreed. The material was duly bought and about 2 squares were sewn and that was it for at least a year!!! Booking through Thursday

This is this week's discussion We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet. What’s the best book that YOU haven’t read yet? I think this week's discussion could be closely related to my last post concerning the Daily Telegraph article on reading habits. However as I have already 'casted my vote' in the 'Telegraph' poll I'll concentrate on books on my bookshelf that I intend to read one day.
