Teaser Tuesdays

It's Tuesday so there must be a teaser here somewhere...

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here is mine ...

''Still, she found it difficult to believe that Ivy and her husband had gotten the notion to join the Amish from him. But it was her sister's prayer that her children would' live their lives to the fullest measure, even if I should die prematurely' that struck Sarah as most significant.''

page 223-224 'The Redemption of Sarah Cain' by Beverly Lewis.

More teasers can be found here.

As in they weren't Amish and then they joined? Can you do that? Huh.

My teaser at arch thinking. Unusually for me, its nonfiction.
I haven't read on of her books in years! Will have to see if the library has this one, it sounds good.

HERE is my teaser for this week.

JOining the AMish...think I'll pass. I will not willingly give up my modern conviences, but it may be interesting to read about. Good teaser :)

Novels about the Amish seem to have boomed in recent years. Although I have never read one, Beverly Lewis is a name I recognise, so I will look this one up. How faith-based communities balance spirituality with practical aspects of life is interesting to me. I remember loving Rumer Godden's In This House Of Brede, for example.

My own teaser this week does happen to deal with "the world beyond", too, but in a very different manner!

Replying to your comment to me, I had to smile, me go to Cambridge!! No we offered hospitality to a guy who would come down for the weekend to visit his then girlfriend who was in our fellowship. Interestingly they are both now Pastors at a church in Harlow.
Don't think you can split Lavender (although my largest one had rooted everywhere) I have replaced with new plugs which are not much bigger than cuttings. A cheap way of doing it.
