This week has gone by in a blur. There has not been a great deal of reading time as we had a wonderful
celebration at church for our parish priest's golden jubilee.Also during the week we have been visiting my father-in-law in hospital , therefore reading has been minimal.
However,even when life is busy I still like to pick up a book for an odd minute here and there. So I have started another Jean Plaidy (I'm on a roll with her books, either as Jean Plaidy or Victoria Holt), this time it is
'A Health Unto His Majesty'
a novel of the life of Charles II. Although only a few pages in it is proving very good. Maybe by next Sunday I will have a review written.

Like you, I had a busy week of travel and making arrangements for my mom to go back to Florida so reading was a few pages here and there.

I'm hoping for a relaxing week with lots of reading time.

Amy's Quilt Festival.

Over at Amy's blog there is an online quilt festival starting today and running for a week. As I have only ever made one quilt I don't have a lot of choice but as no judging takes place I thought I'd participate. Apologies to those who have already read the details of the quilt in an earlier post but I need to chronicle the it's making for the festival. It was about 2-3 years in the planning , as I was such a coward I really didn't know where to begin. The idea for the quilt was a request from my youngest daughter and not wishing to disappoint I immediately agreed. The material was duly bought and about 2 squares were sewn and that was it for at least a year!!! Booking through Thursday

This is this week's discussion We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet. What’s the best book that YOU haven’t read yet? I think this week's discussion could be closely related to my last post concerning the Daily Telegraph article on reading habits. However as I have already 'casted my vote' in the 'Telegraph' poll I'll concentrate on books on my bookshelf that I intend to read one day.
