Musing Mondays.

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about book reviews…
Do you read any non-blogging book reviews? If so, where (newspaper, library etc)? Do you have any favourites sources you'd like to share?

Since I started blogging the first place I search for reviews are the many blogs out there . If you check my blog list in the righthand column you'll find many book related sites. In addition to reviews that are written there I also search for reading challenges in genre that I enjoy.
Every week we buy the Daily Telegraph, in the Saturday issue there is a section devoted to Arts and Books, everything from the latest CDs to the reviews of the best sellers and new books.
The Sunday Times prints a similar section, but I find the books reviewed are nearly always the ones seen in the Telegraph.
When it comes to online shops I find Amazon to be very helpful with reviews from their buyers.
Closer to home my main book shop is Waterstones. From this store I receive emails of latest books, events in my area and reviews. I don't think it has been known for me to walk past a 'Waterstones' without popping in, lol!I love it.
I have mentioned in a previous post the topic of authors blogs, and in particular
Philippa Gregory. On her website there are forums where members not only review her books but also chat and recommend other historical novels. This is a treasure trove of information, well worth checking out.
Last year I subscribed to a reading magazine , namely,New Books. My subscription has since lapsed, I must renew it. However, the magazine is published six times a year and is full of articles about authors and their books and book extracts. There is also a chance to choose a new book for free, only having to pay postage and packing.

All of the above help to fuel my love of books but I also consider titles my personal friends recommend. They know my likes and dislikes very well!

Thanks for visiting my blog. You have some great links. I wish we had a Waterstones here. Seems like a classy place.
Oooh, that New Books magazine sounds wonderful. How nice that it not only has reviews, but also book extracts!
