Knitting for colder days.

These has been this weeks project, a pair of legwarmers for my daughter. Boy, do we need them , it is so cold ! They were very quick to knit. However, I was a little surprised with the wool, which she bought online. I haven't done much knitting for a while and from what I can remember 'chunky' wool was a lot thicker than this , but maybe my memory is playing tricks. I know there are some wonderful knitters out there , they may not agree. Opinions welcome.

Funny you should say that, I have been knitting with double knit this week and I thought it was thin. I thought it might have been me as I was using Aran last week

Leg Warmers. Had lots when they first apapeared on the scene, must have been decades ago now. How warm they look.

Over at Amy's blog there is an online quilt festival starting today and running for a week. As I have only ever made one quilt I don't have a lot of choice but as no judging takes place I thought I'd participate. Apologies to those who have already read the details of the quilt in an earlier post but I need to chronicle the it's making for the festival. It was about 2-3 years in the planning , as I was such a coward I really didn't know where to begin. The idea for the quilt was a request from my youngest daughter and not wishing to disappoint I immediately agreed. The material was duly bought and about 2 squares were sewn and that was it for at least a year!!! This is this week's discussion We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading.
