The Sunday Salon

This last week has found me reading a few short stories by Daphne Du Maurier, 'The Rendezvous and other stories'. These were good for quick reads in between sewing.
However as the months are passing quickly I remembered Becky's challenge for the Bronte Sisters which I had signed up to a while ago. So yesterday I started re-reading 'Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte. I love this book. I read it years ago on a train journey from Cambridge after visiting my daughter. The lady I sat next to on the train remarked that she tried to read it in the past and couldn't. When I replied that I was a keen fan of the Brontes she gave me a very strange look, lol! Well that made me determined to read, and determination soon turned to pleasure as the story unfolded. It has a popular 'Bronte' theme with Agnes Grey leaving home to be a governess to a very unruly family. Next week I'm sure this book will be finished and I'll have moved on to another grear read. Hope you all have a good week.

http://tinyurl.com/5caqqx is my response finally to the book award you gave me last month. Sorry, it took me so long.

As for your post, I've never read anything by the Brontes. What would you recommend I begin with?
