Stitching.

Yesterday I started stitching a drawstring bag to keep my sewing items in. It is from a McCalls pattern , shown here. Although the pattern front doesn't show my bag there are some other good ideas shown.
Also I have a request for cross stitch pictures from my daughter, she has a frame with places for three photos and she would like to display cross stitch cats there. We are a cat loving family. So it looks like a busy time ahead. This is a Bank holiday weekend here in the U.K, as usual the weather is not too good, but it may improve. I think we will spend the time at home. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Amy's Quilt Festival.

Over at Amy's blog there is an online quilt festival starting today and running for a week. As I have only ever made one quilt I don't have a lot of choice but as no judging takes place I thought I'd participate. Apologies to those who have already read the details of the quilt in an earlier post but I need to chronicle the it's making for the festival. It was about 2-3 years in the planning , as I was such a coward I really didn't know where to begin. The idea for the quilt was a request from my youngest daughter and not wishing to disappoint I immediately agreed. The material was duly bought and about 2 squares were sewn and that was it for at least a year!!! This is this week's discussion We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet.
