This is a photo of the ruins of the castle in Barnard Castle, Teesdale. It was founded by the Normans and at one time owned by Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick. He was known as 'the Kingmaker' and played a leading role in the War of the Roses. More information is

Barnard Castle is a beautiful market town and I feel privileged to live nearby.
