'Miss Austen Regrets'.

'Miss Austen Regrets' was a drama I watched on BBC1 last night. It followed the life of Jane Austen in her trials of getting books published and her personal life. Her family's lack of money and the advice she gave to her neice Fanny. At the beginning of the programme you saw accepting a proposal of marriage only to withdraw it the following morning. I don't know if it was true to life as I haven't studied her,, but I did enjoy the programme. Anyone else see it, I'd appreciate your comments.

If you missed it, it can be bought

Wow! I would love to be able to see that! I'll have to see if Netflix (a DVD rental-through-the-mail service which gets a lot of British movies, etc. which I'd be otherwise unable to get) here in the States will get that biopic! I look forward to seeing it! Thank you for sharing about it!

Blessings,
Chris

I would just love to see this, but I don't know if it's available in the U.S. As far as the marriage proposal, I've studied Jane a fair amount and what I've read said that she received a marriage proposal from a very wealthy man and accepted, but did indeed refuse him the following morning. This caused no small stir and her immediate removal from his property. And we wonder where she got the material for her books! LOL!
